My own sleep + weight journey
For years, sleep was my biggest struggle.
I didn’t always have trouble falling asleep — but staying asleep was another story. I’d wake up in the middle of the night with my mind racing, replaying conversations, making mental to-do lists, or just feeling wired for no clear reason.
And when sleep is off, everything else follows.
My energy was inconsistent.
Cravings were harder to manage.
Weight loss felt like an uphill battle no matter how well I ate.
That’s when I started paying attention to how deeply stress and sleep affect hormones — especially cortisol.
One of the simplest tools I learned about was aromatherapy.

How I actually use essential oils at night
Before bed, I apply calming essential oils as part of my nightly routine. The scent alone helps signal my nervous system that it’s time to slow down.
And if I wake up in the middle of the night, I don’t fight it or grab my phone. I reapply the oils and take a few slow breaths. I’ve learned that aromatherapy helps relax my body, quiet my racing mind, and ease me back into sleep.
For me, this consistency matters more than perfection.
Better sleep has supported:
steadier energy during the day
improved stress response
and, over time, weight loss that finally felt sustainable instead of forced
This isn’t about knocking yourself out — it’s about helping your body feel safe enough to rest.

If you’re curious which essential oils I use for sleep, stress, and hormone support, I’ve shared them here along with simple ways to use them.
